At this meeting, we are pleased to welcome Lauren Parker of the Power Research Collective, who will provide an overview of (1) the tax abatement program, (2) their ongoing research, and (3) next steps and ways to get involved. Prior to Lauren's presentation at 3:30, we will briefly discuss two articles: Education and the Structural Crisis of Capital: The U.S. Case, by John Bellamy Foster, and Who Is Behind the Assault on Public Schools? by Howard Ryan. The meeting will conclude with a recap/preview of various OCOS events, including a press conference on 11/15, a Town Hall in South Phillly on 12/15, and visits to City Council in November and December. All are welcome!
