Socialist Propagandizing 101, February 10 at 6pm
In this session, we'll think through how to write about our campaigns and get our ideas published. Join us if you're interested in writing or copyediting, if you are part of a Philly DSA campaign that could benefit from publicity, or if you want to brainstorm with us.

Petitioning & Canvass Training, February 12 at 3pm, Calvary United Methodist Church
With the 2022 cycle underway, Philly DSA will be out in force to knock doors for socialist candidates in the May primary election. Want to hone your skills and learn how to make the most of conversations at the door? Join the Electoral Committee for a comprehensive training on canvassing and petitioning! 

Education Justice Committee Meeting, February 13 at 3pm
Discuss current campaigns for Philly public schools including a Green New Deal for Philly Public Schools, Board of Education Watch, & CO2 Monitoring in Schools.

Movie Night: Judas and the Black Messiah, February  24 at 7pm, Kung Fu Necktie

Bucks Cancel Lunch Debt Coalition Meeting, February 7 at 7pm
Discuss ending the lunch debt crisis in PA, and eventually throughout the country, by eliminating current debt and passing legislation to provide free meals to all students.

Delco DSA
Reading Group: Alternatives to Policing, February 10 at 7:30pm
Discuss alternatives to policing in light of the Fanta Bility murder and subsequent charges.

This week in unions

  • Starbucks workers in Philly have joined the union movement! Read more and plan to head to the two stores downtown to show your support.
    • More than 30 stores have filed for union elections so far, with more on the way. You can track their elections here!
  • On the other side of the state, 300 workers at Washington General Hospital have authorized a strike.
  • 14,000 CWA members in 36 states, including PA, are negotiating a new contract. There are a lot of big, upcoming contract fights to watch out for – this is one of them!
