Friend

Solidarity is brewing! Starbucks workers around the country are organizing with Starbucks Workers United, and DSA members are here to support them! Join the launch call for the nationally-coordinated solidarity campaign and hear from SBWU speakers, Tom Morello, Sarah Squirm, and your new Democratic Socialist Labor Commission (DSLC) leadership about the fight workers are facing and how we can help them win here in Philly.

On the electoral front, we’re in the final stretch of petitioning! This weekend is our last chance to collect 2,000 signatures to get our endorsed candidate Paul Prescod on the ballot. Please join us at one of the below canvasses – we need all hands on deck to make sure we’ve got a shot of electing a socialist in the 8th Senate District!

The following are regular canvasses (talking to voters about the issues that matter to them and connecting them to Paul’s campaign), and won’t include getting voters signed on petitions:

This week in unions

  • Our Labor Branch will be canvassing for our endorsed candidate Paul Prescod together on Sunday, April 10. Details TBA, but stick around after for a Labor Branch social!
  • Please take our short survey about your work/union status. It’ll be quick, we promise, and it’ll help our work moving forward!
  • Staff at UArts are joining their faculty colleagues and forming a union! Solidarity.
  • Support Maximus workers and CWA members who are going on strike in the South! Sign their petition.
  • Yesterday, our members stood with unionizing Starbucks workers who were forced to sit through captive audience meetings. We’ll continue to support them in any way we can!
