Friend --

DSA is a democratic organization in which the general membership is the highest decision-making body. Philly DSA members propose, debate, and vote on our organization’s direction at our General Meetings.

So mark your calendars! Because our next General Meeting will be Sunday, September 26 at noon. Resolutions to be considered at the GM should be submitted to the Steering Committee via [email protected] at least four weeks before the date of the GM (in this case, that's Sunday, August 29.)

The resolution process:

  • Resolutions are submitted four weeks before the GM
  • The Steering Committee will communicate any issues with the resolutions three weeks before the GM; if there are any issues, authors will have five days to resubmit resolutions and bring them into order
  • A GM packet will be published at least two weeks before the GM
  • Amendments to resolutions must be submitted at least one week before the GM

More instructions on writing resolutions and examples are on our website. Members may also email the Steering Committee with any questions.
