The DSA Electoral Committee is running a multi-part crash course series on the Philadelphia political ecosystem and DSA’s role in it. This series will offer a primer on the traditional and emerging power structures including political parties and ward committees, labor unions and progressive/movement organizations. It will also include an outline of the current and prospective political players (electeds and leaders) and how they intersect and overlap. Our first session will cover how and why DSA uses electoral politics as a tactic to win socialism. We will discuss case studies and examples to show where our model works and where it needs improvement. At the end of each session there will be time to discuss and ask questions. Each session will be recorded and available to DSA members.
