Fair Work Week Amendment Session

This Thursday Nov. 29th is an important day for getting Fair Workweek legislation through Council. Thursday is the final day for amendments to the bill and we want to ensure we have a clean bill. 

Philly DSA endorsed this bill because it will improve the lives and organizing capacities of over 130,000 service sector workers, consider how much easier a union drive becomes when you can organize around set shifts. But this is precisely why the bill is under threat. The Chamber of Commerce is mobilized; American Airlines, Aramark and every other seedy titan of Philadelphia's business community have their lawyers in Council ready with a number of hostile amendments.
