Have you had an interaction at DSA that felt inappropriate but not necessarily like it warranted filing a grievance? Have you led a group at DSA but struggled to manage the group dynamics? Are there repeated group interactions you notice at DSA that replicate structural oppressions you’d like to talk about? Are you having social media interactions that are leaving you upset and disengaged?
The DSA Harassment and Grievance Officers (HGOs) are interested in hearing about these experiences to help chapter members work through these moments and improve the working culture of the chapter. Your interpersonal experiences matter, even if the negative conduct you’re experiencing does not rise to the level of a grievance.
These sessions will also help inform a new code of conduct for the chapter, which HGOs are also currently working on. We would like to hear about the day-to-day experience of being in the chapter as our first step in this project. Do you have concerns about conduct? Are there behaviors you’d like to see encouraged? Please drop in and talk to us in a confidential, private conversation.
The HGOs are offering drop in listening sessions from 5-6pm on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, starting February 15. RSVP here, and you'll get the link to the Zoom room. Stop by to introduce yourself and tell us what’s going on. We’ll help how we can. If this time doesn’t work for you, but you’d like to schedule a time to talk to the HGOs, send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll try to schedule something with you. We look forward to hearing from you!
