Marx's writings on Colonialism

Marx and Marxists have been charged as being Eurocentric and not paying attention to the issues of those on the periphery, the margins. We will be analyzing this claim and based on the writings collected and analyzed in the book Marx at the Margins by Kevin Anderson.

For the first session we will look at Marx's writings on colonialism, focusing on the example of his writings and analysis of colonialism in India. We will look at how his thinking evolved and changed throughout the years.

The recommended reading is Chapter 1 of Kevin Anderson's "Marx at the Margins."
