On February 1, 2024 at 4:15pm at Oak Lane Court Apartments (1623 W Chelten Avenue), the Oak Lane Tenant Association will be gathering in solidarity to protest against deplorable and unsafe building conditions at their apartment complex managed by notorious Philadelphia-area property management company, SBG Management Services. Over the course of the last year, SBG has stubbornly ignored residents’ repeated demands, namely their demands that Management: (1) turn on heat for all units, (2) restore elevator service, and (3) stop ignoring general repair requests throughout the building.
Oak Lane Tenants are coming together to insist that “something has to give.” Join us and hear stories from tenant leaders and learn about the Oak Lane Tenant Association’s plan to force SBG management to provide habitable living conditions for working class Philadephians.
The Oak Lane Tenant Association emerged from residents collaborating with Renters’ Justice Collective, a Philly DSA tenant organizing campaign that builds tenant power by confronting landlords who put profit over people.
