Tenants' Rights Canvass

Hundreds of evictions each year are ordered “by default,” in which tenants don’t appear at court. That’s why we’re visiting tenants who have upcoming eviction hearings to provide legal resources and talk to them about their housing conditions. No experience with landlord tenant law or canvassing needed, so they’re a great first event if you’re looking to get involved in something that makes an immediate impact.

We will meet up at the Gustine Rec Center in East Falls, do a short training, and then head off in pairs to carry out the canvass. This canvass may involve some driving, so please indicate in the RSVP form if you can drive.

We'll likely have a happy hour following the canvass. We will send out updates via email to those who have RSVPed!

In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule the canvass to 8/17.
