Since October 7th, rank-and-file members of AFSCME and other unions have been organizing to demand a ceasefire in Israel/Palestine and an end to the labor movement's complicity in war and militarism. This event will provide opportunities for union members to learn about the context of the ongoing hostilities, why it should matter to them, and the role of unions in the struggle for peace and justice.

This event is co-sponsored by JVP Philly, AFT 2026 and the Caucus of Working Educators. Proceeds from suggested donations at the door will support Gaza relief via AFSC and UNRWA.
Speakers:
Raz Segal, professor of genocide studies at Stockton University, Israeli-American Joyce Ajlouny, General Secretary of the American Friends Service Committee, and Palestinian-American Jeff Schuhrke, professor at Empire State University in Manhattan, who writes about the ties between organized labor, Zionism, and war.
