Dues are the backbone of DSA’s funding model at the national and local level. We encourage all members to contribute to both.
NATIONAL DUES
National dues help fund the work of our national project, with 20% of monthly dues allocated back to our chapter.
To be a full, voting member of DSA, you must join and pay dues with our national organization.
By becoming a dues-paying member, you’re helping to demonstrate that effective mobilization can be achieved democratically, without relying on massive donations or private fundraising.
LOCAL DUES
Local dues directly fund the work of our chapter, and are a 100% contribution to Philly DSA, an entirely member-funded organization.
Local dues cover all of our chapter's operations in Philadelphia, primarily our political work, such as campaigns, as well as all the behind-the-scenes costs for facilities, materials, and chapter-wide meetings.
Note: You do not have to pay local dues to be a member in good standing of Philly DSA. To be a member in good standing, you must pay dues at the national level. You can do that here.
