Bernie-tin: The Iowa Caucus Edition

The next time we at the Bulletin write to you will be February 6, 2020. By then, those of you who are braving the Iowa cold next weekend will be back home. The polls, promising as they have been lately, will be a speck in our rear window. Iowa votes in eleven days, and from then on, votes and pledged delegates will be the only things that matter.

Philly DSA’s got a lot to be proud of; the Bulletin is biased, obviously, but we believe (and people have been saying!) that you all are the best-trained, most active, most dedicated, and handsomest canvassers in DSA. If anyone can win Philly for Bernie, it’s you. So keep coming out to Sanders campaign events, call and text into early voting states, knock doors with us, take the pledge, and bring a friend. Do that, and in eleven days, we’ll be well on our way to winning

February General Meeting

Saturday, February 29 | 12:00 - 4:00 pm | First Unitarian Church | 2125 Chestnut St

Save the Date! Our next General Meeting is next month! At the February General Meeting, we'll hear from candidates seeking our endorsement and will vote on whether to endorse each. We'll also hear reports from committees, as well as debate and vote on resolutions.

GM Timeline:

  • Deadline for General Meeting business submissions: 2/8
  • General Meeting Agenda published: 2/15
  • Amendments due: 2/19
  • Final General Meeting Agenda published: 2/22

The Bulletin would also like to once again thank Richard Hooker of Teamsters Local 623 for speaking at our last GM. Juliana Feliciano Reyes, the Inquirer’s labor reporter, profiled Hooker for the paper this week; it’s an inspiring look at how a black package handler rose to the top of his union leadership, activating hundreds of members along the way.
