The best way for members to get involved is to participate in our local campaigns, the centers of our work. They advance our political program and demands. Campaigns are typically voted on by the general membership and carried out through their respective committees, commissions and groups. Our ward project is ramping up to mobilize hundreds of members and supporters at a block-by-block level to build mass organization, strengthen community organizing, and elect socialists to office.
SAFE AIR FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Our public schools are faced with several crises, from lack of funding, to poor facilities with asbestos and mold affecting the air quality of our students, we’re organizing to demand fully-funded HVAC and modernized schools.
RENTER’s JUSTICE
Bad landlord? Rent jacked up? Our Housing Committee’s Renter’s Justice Campaign is organizing senior and low income tenants and helping build fighting tenant unions across the city.
As Israel continues its genocide of Palestinians, we’re canvassing local businesses to divest from Israeli products, as compliant with the goals of the national boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement.
MASK OFF MAERSK
Maersk is one of the world’s largest shipping and and logistics companies that directly ships military cargo that facilitates Israel’s genocide in Gaza. We’re working with DSA chapters across the mid-atlantic to call on Maersk to cut ties with genocide.
